Bide – Terms of Use

Last updated: 10 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Bide (“the App”), published by Newkbyte. By using the App you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the App.

1. What Bide is

Bide is a self-guided wellbeing tool. It offers short breathing, grounding, delay and writing exercises to use when an urge arrives, and records check-ins you choose to make so you can see your own patterns.

2. What Bide is not

Bide is not medical care, therapy, emergency support, or a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent addiction, anxiety or any other health condition. Nothing in the App is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

No one monitors the App. Bide cannot contact emergency services for you, and nothing you write is seen by another person.

Alcohol — an important safety note

If you drink heavily or every day, your body may have become physically dependent. Stopping suddenly can cause seizures and a serious condition called delirium tremens, and can be dangerous. Speak to a doctor before making a large change to your drinking. The same applies to benzodiazepines and some other substances.

Bide does not supervise withdrawal and must not be relied on to do so.

3. If you are in crisis

If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. In the UK call 999, or Samaritans on 116 123. In the US call or text 988. Bide is not an appropriate tool for a crisis.

4. Your responsibility

You decide how to use the exercises and remain responsible for decisions you make outside the App. Use your judgement and seek professional support where it is warranted.

5. Bide Pro purchases

6. Your data

Your habits, check-ins and written notes are stored on your device. Purchase status is processed by the relevant store and RevenueCat. See our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your device and its backups; we cannot recover local habit data from a lost, reset or damaged phone.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reverse engineer, resell, misuse or interfere with the App or its purchase mechanisms, except where such a restriction is prohibited by law.

8. Availability

The App is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change or discontinue features. The core support exercises work offline and do not depend on Bide servers.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Newkbyte is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

11. Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be published here with a revised date.
